Arne Richards is a professional Hypnotherapist, musician and music therapist. He is also trained in NLP, CBT techniques and Life Coaching. He has been privileged to tour the world as a performer and consultant music therapist and before training in hypnotherapy Arne worked extensively with people with special needs, children and adults, elderly groups, asylum seekers and people in prison.

Arne continues to work with organisations such as the NHS, MIND, MENCAP, The Prison Service, Oxford University and Corporate Groups around the country.

Arne has a successful and busy hypnotherapy practice here at the Wellbeing Clinic and in Oxfordshire. He trained with the Hypnotherapy Control Board and is a member of the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysis which insists upon exceptionally high standards of ethical practice and ongoing training and supervision.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural process which generates a wonderful feeling of calm and well-being as well as a state of heightened awareness. During this time it is possible to harness the power of the subconscious mind in order to help many symptoms and conditions. People are totally in control of their own mind and can converse normally.

Arne offers two forms of hypnotherapy

Suggestion Therapy

Otherwise known as clinical hypnotherapy, this is a very effective method of treating simpler problems using the power of the subconscious to change habits and to bring about a therapeutic resolution. Help with smoking (95% success rate), overeating, nail biting, children’s problems, exam nerves, lack of confidence – all these conditions can be successfully treated with suggestion therapy.

Hypnoanalysis

Arne is a specialist in this unique form of therapy, practised only by those trained by the Hypnotherapy Control Board. Hypnoanalysis is a powerful, fast-track way of treating symptoms which would, by any other forms of analysis, take years to resolve.

Arne believes that every problem has its own solution. He also believes that each and every symptom must have a cause. Over the course of 7 or 8 sessions, sometimes less, the revealing of this cause through hypnoanalysis will subsequently resolve the symptoms completely. Conditions which lend themselves to this type of therapy include;

Anxiety, nervous disorders, allergies, phobias of all kinds, sexual problems, IBS, stress, insomnia, emotional problems and many more.

What is Life Coaching?

A life coach is an individual who supports and encourages people to fulfil their potential and really make the most of their life. A life coach can help to empower individuals to take control of their life, or certain areas of their life, for example, their career, confidence/self belief, finances, health, relationships, spirituality and/or work/life balance.

It can be easy to lose direction in our lives and life coaching aims to explore ways to enhance the skills, qualities and creativity we already have but may not be making the most of. Life coaching often involves exploring our attitudes, beliefs and values, discussing our aims in life and setting appropriate goals to help us to reach them. Unlike trying to achieve goals on our own, having a life coach should help to keep us committed, motivated and focussed. Just like sports men and women have their own coach, a life coach helps us to become the best we can be in our own lives.

What is NLP?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) explores the relationship between how we think, how we communicate and our patterns of behaviour. We all have thoughts, reactions and behaviour patterns that are automatically ‘programmed’ into our minds; along with attitudes, beliefs and habits that can sometimes cause us unnecessary pain, and prevent us from achieving our goals.

NLP practitioners work with the conscious and unconscious mind to replace negative patterns of behaviour and thinking with more positive ones. Similar to a life coach, an NLP practitioner supports and encourages individuals to fulfil their potential and empowers them to take control of their life or certain areas of their life.

The terms Life Coach and NLP Practitioner are often used interchangeably, as both address an individual’s beliefs, emotions, values, thoughts and behaviours. The main differences between the two is that life coaches only work with the conscious mind through conversation and goal setting, whereas NLP practitioners also work with the unconscious mind to change negative patterns of thinking and behaviour. NLP practitioners may also want to explore the past, whereas life coaches will focus more on the present and the future.

Fees

Sessions last for 50 minutes and cost between £50-75.

Smoking Cessation session costs £150.
