Complementary therapy clinic in Oxford

Dr Diane Kohl

I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist. I am registered with the Health and Care Professional Council, and I am a chartered member of the British Psychology Society. During my training I worked at a local eating disorder service, before moving onto a community mental health team, continuing my work with clients affected by severe and enduring difficulties. Overall, I have 8 years worth of clinical experience and I continue to work within the NHS.

How therapy can help you

Life can be difficult at times and can therefore leave us feeling that we have lost confidence in ourselves or are unable to cope.

While it can be daunting to consider therapy, it can provide us with a safe and none-judgemental space to reflect on events, help us rebuild our self-confidence, and make changes in our lives that allow us to be the best version of ourselves.

Through therapy, I want to help you reach your goals and be the best version of yourself, whatever this may look like for you. I also believe that successful therapy does not just impact you, but also people in your life. Therapy will teach you skills that will enable you to master life’s adversities more effectively in the future and you will be able to-in turn-share these skills with your partner, friends or children for instance.

We will achieve your goals for therapy by working collaboratively and creatively drawing on different interventions from different models, to create a bespoke therapy plan suited for you and your individual needs.

What will be needed from you is an open mind and the commitment to try new ways of thinking and acting.

What I offer

I am trained and have worked in both cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. Through on-going professional development, my skill-set furthermore includes compassion focused therapy and mindfulness. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). As a pluralistic practitioner, I draw on all these different models to create a bespoke treatment plan with you.
