Complementary therapy clinic in Oxford

Welcome Kate Macalister

We would like to warmly welcome Kate Macalister to the Wellbeing Clinic team.

Kate gained a First Class Honours degree in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, where she studied Five Element and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncture, along with dry needling and conventional medicine.  She completed her dissertation research on chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions, and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) with full insurance.  She draws on the best that Chinese Medicine has to offer to produce a personalised diagnosis and treatment plan for her patients, using mainly acupuncture, auricular (ear) acupuncture, dry needling and cupping in her treatments.  She has been trained to use these techniques alongside any conventional medical treatment that a patient may be having, and has done postgraduate training in pain management; musculoskeletal conditions; emotional health; auricular acupuncture; and to work with patients during/after cancer treatment.  She has experience of treating a wide variety of patients with a wide variety of symptoms and needs, including those anxious about needles.

Kate started having acupuncture as a patient to help with painful joints, and subsequently had acupuncture throughout treatment for cancer, and found it invaluable in helping her to cope with both conditions.  Her clinic hours are Thursdays 2-8 pm. Please phone The Wellbeing Clinic on 01865 751111 to make an appointment or book online,  If you would like to have a chat with her before booking, she is happy to do this, please call the clinic to arrange a call back.
